Puchung Tsering
Puchung Tsering (b. 1994), born in Zidong Village, Namulin County, Shigatse, is a leading young-generation Thangka painter in Tibet. With a deep passion for painting since childhood, he began his formal training at the age of 12 under masters Tsering Wangchuk and Dechen Wanggyal, where he learned traditional Thangka techniques and Buddhist iconometric principles. With nearly 17 years of practice, he has grown into a distinguished artist representing both heritage and innovation.
He is particularly renowned for his mastery of miniature Thangkas (Zhaka) as well as large-scale works, where his strict attention to proportions and refined detail has earned him recognition among collectors. His art not only reflects the essence of Tibetan culture but also contributes significantly to the preservation and development of Thangka heritage in the modern era.

【Selected Achievements】
• 2021: Awarded the Gongqiao Prize and named Arts and Crafts Master of Shigatse.
• 2022: Conferred the honorary title of Lhasa Arts and Crafts Master.
• 2023: Received certification as Assistant Arts and Crafts Master.
• 2019–present: Participated in the Hundred New-Themed Thangka Project and Exhibition, with his work Solemn Dance selected among the first fifty entries, showcasing both cultural continuity and contemporary innovation.
