Jinmei Dorje

Jinmei Dorje (also known as Jinmi Dorje), born in Tibet, is a First-Class Thangka Painter of the Tibet Autonomous Region and was awarded the title of Master of Arts and Crafts of Lhasa in 2022. Trained from a young age in Buddhist iconography and traditional thangka techniques, Dorje’s work adheres to strict canonical proportions while incorporating his own distinctive artistic style.

Over the years, Dorje has contributed to major thangka and mural projects across Tibet. His works have been exhibited in important regional and national exhibitions, earning recognition from both scholars and collectors. In the 1st “Gongqiao Cup” Tibet Autonomous Region Arts & Crafts Skills Competition, he achieved outstanding results and received official awards, highlighting both his technical mastery and creative innovation.

In 2024, Dorje’s works were selected for the Exhibition of Outstanding Achievements by Arts and Crafts Masters of Tibet, showcased at the Tibet Art Museum (Lhasa) and later at the Beijing Exhibition Center, further establishing him as one of the leading contemporary thangka painters in Tibet.
