Lobsang
Lobsang, widely known as the “Master of Color Blending”, is a celebrated contemporary Tibetan painter specializing in small-format Thangkas. His signature technique is the use of a deep green base, an extremely demanding coloring process that no other painter has successfully replicated, making his works instantly recognizable.
He is especially renowned for his depictions of wrathful deities, particularly the Five Great Vajras and the Eight Great Vajras. His works are characterized by powerful brushwork, rich tones, and dramatic intensity, perfectly capturing both the ferocity and sacred dignity of wrathful protectors.
Because Lobsang devotes only about two months each year to painting—spending the rest of his time farming—his works are exceptionally rare and highly valued in the market. His representative works have been exhibited at the Tibet Art Museum, earning acclaim from both scholars and collectors. Zizaitang proudly preserves several of his exhibition-level masterpieces.
